97Dredd, fka IMJLS (pronounced “i’m jealous”) is a 23 year old hip-hop artist from boulder, colorado. 

 

Born Isaiah Mason James Latourrette-Smith, he began playing music at age 10, when he learned the piano and clarinet via his grandmother. After a brief stint at CU-Boulder, Smith began the IMJLS project in 2015 at the age of 18.

 

Working with local producer Katmandoom, he released his first conceptual mixtape, The Blunt Diaries, that same year. Debuting his unique flow, complete with a gritty growl, he garnered a loyal fan base amongst locals. This led to Smith’s first headlining local shows. Over his career, IMJLS has played countless shows across Colorado, including several sold out performances in his hometown venue, the Dickens Opera House. 

In 2018, IMJLS released the 26-song mixtape, Rare, which touches on mental health while showcasing his production chops and dexterous sound. With his non-profit organization, The Creative Collective, Smith hopes to help the way artists are perceived in society and be a resource to artists all over colorado.
